Nancy (Freeman) (1904–73) and her sister Jessica (Lucy) (1917–96), English writers. Nancy achieved fame with comic novels including Love in a Cold Climate (1949). Jessica became an American citizen in 1944, and is best known for her works on American culture, notably The American Way of Death (1963). Among their four sisters were Unity (1914–48), who was an admirer of Hitler, and Diana (1910–2003), who married Sir Oswald Mosley in 1936.
