(born 1925), US architect and writer; pioneer of postmodernist architecture; full name Robert Charles Venturi. Among his buildings are the Humanities Classroom Building of the State University of New York (1973), the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery in London (1991), and the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library in Washington, DC (2005).
