  • In south-western Wales: the part of a town or county mostly inhabited by culturally Welsh people, typically where the Welsh language is spoken, and Welsh practices, customs, and (occasionally) laws are retained. Also, in England: the part of a town or county inhabited by people of Welsh descent (now historical). Opposed to Englishry.
